First Time Flat Buyers – Things to Keep in Mind

When it comes to buying your first flat or apartment, no matter whether it is a 2 BHK (Bath, Hallway, Kitchen), 3 BHK or even larger it is important to take your time and choose the location, style and type of you apartment through a thoughtful and deliberative process. Owning a flat is a long-term investment and should not be jumped into rashly. If you can only afford a 2 BHK don’t go looking at 4 BHKs, you will set up unattainable ideas in your mind.

Jaipur is a wonderful city. With over 3 million inhabitants sharing a dozen neighborhoods in and around the city, you should be able to find an area that suits your work and lifestyle needs. Museums and monuments abound and there are numerous temples and places of worship to cater to almost every creed.

Location:
The location of your flat should suit your immediate and future needs. Schools, hospitals and shopping centres are all important amenities to look for. Talk with the people in the neighborhood you are looking at to get an idea of what is convenient and what is not.

Cost:
The down payment on a flat is the first of many bills you are about to acquire. Mortgage payments, insurance, utility bills and so on have to fit within your budget. Finding a flat with a great down payment but whose lease terms are too high is just as bad as not being able to afford a house to begin with.

Style:
Your new flat will have to support the lifestyle you are leading. If you have a large family, you will obviously need a larger home. If you have children in the home, you need to find a flat that offers activities or playgrounds close to your home. If you choose a house without considering the lifestyle you lead, it will never make you happy.
